DCAM Public Education|Dunhuang Feitian × Modern Aerospace: A Parent-Child Journey Across Time and Space!

Feitian, the ethereal and timeless symbol in the murals of the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, has traversed millennia through over 4,500 diverse and graceful figures, narrating ancient aspirations for free flight and weaving a magnificent epic of traditional art.

As we gaze at the stars in this new era, the flame of ancient dreams to "fly to the heavens" is reignited. At 17:17 Beijing Time on April 24, the Shenzhou-20 manned spacecraft will embark on its journey to space. This marks another steadfast step in China’s aerospace endeavors, propelling the millennium-old dream of flight into a new chapter across the cosmos.

On Saturday, April 26, the Dunhuang Contemporary Art Museum (DCAM) will host the “Let’s Fly to the Skies Together!” parent-child public education event, inviting families to embark on a wondrous journey bridging ancient and modern dreams of flight!

During this event, children can:

  • Immerse themselves in the “Feitian Puzzle Challenge”, learning about Feitian imagery through interactive puzzles;

  • Participate in the “Feitian Pose Show”, mimicking Feitian postures to experience their dynamic beauty;

  • Join the “Ancient & Modern Feitian Sharing Session”, exploring the evolution of Feitian and its connection to aerospace;

  • Engage in “3D Dunhuang Feitian Art Creation”, bringing their creativity to life through hands-on artwork.
