"Shepherding Light" - Artist Zheng Jing
"Shepherding Light" Public Space Art Creation Project
In July 2022, the Dunhuang International Artist Residency Program was officially launched. This residency project invited artist Zheng Jing to initiate the "Shepherding Light" public space art creation project. The artist, along with her team, conducted nearly a month of investigation and practice in the Dunhuang area, implementing real-time artistic creation.
"Journey to the West of Light and Shadow" Centered around Mingsha Mountain in Dunhuang, the journey heads west through the Han Dynasty Great Wall and Yumen Pass, all the way to the Yadan Geological Park. In this residency program, the artist selected light and shadow as the medium, exploring the spatial and temporal charm of light in conjunction with natural landscapes and historical relics through site-specific approaches.
"Shepherding Light" Project Starting on July 26th for a duration of one month, the project aims to expand the expressive language and forms of spatial art through multi-sensory experiences that integrate art and technology. It seeks to explore methods and means of sculpture and public art from an interdisciplinary and experimental perspective.
